The Jupiter’s Cycle and and the Energetic Influence of its Transits to a Birth Chart
Jupiter is the largest planet in the Solar System, and it’s orbit around the Sun is approximately 12 years. Because the planets stand for psychological functions applicable to everyone, they represent a universal road map to processes that occur in the human mind. In ancient times, Jupiter was considered to be a benevolent ‘god’. People from many cultures believed that good things happened for them when this planet was prominent in the night sky. Some believed that the Spiritual Masters of great magnitude and light lived in the etheric realms of Jupiter.
Jupiter provides the energy to become aware of, and use the right hemisphere of our brain, the intuitive, spatial and conceptive hemisphere, so we can become more spiritually aware.
Jupiter’s large energy enables us to broaden our horizons and view our world from a higher and wider perspective. When transiting (travelling) Jupiter begins forming an aspect to a placement in your birth charts, which is a road map of where the planets were at the time of your birth from your particular perspective on earth, an opportunity will be presented in life for you to expand your knowledge, perspective and your beliefs, hence broadening your lives. How each individual works with the energy of the transit is up to them. A consciously self-aware person will feel the energy and use it wisely, taking advantage of the opportunities provided even though it may be a huge stretch of self-belief for them to do so. They may study a broadening subject, travel or move to another area to advance their life experiences.
Reflect on what was happening in your lives when you were about twelve years old? And then 24 years of age, 36, 48 years of age etc. This would have been the times when transiting Jupiter returned to it’s birth position in your charts after completing one full twelve-year cycle around your birth chart, influencing every placement in it as it did so. Through reflection, you will be able to see how Jupiter’s transit have expanded/broadened your understanding of life.Often, if we ignore our inner urge to expand and grow spiritually, we can experience loss – of something no longer needed for our growth.
The gift that Jupiter offers when it connects to a placement in your birth chart is for you to envision and seize upon new possibilities and potentials for the next twelve year phase of your life. The gift will be there. There may be a challenge for you to recognise it as something better than you have ever known, new and positive that is within your reach.
Will you say “No” to life and the gift, or take up the challenge to expand your horizons. Personal choice! Neither Jupiter’s transits nor any of the other planets orbits stop, just because you may not believe in them.Their psychological influence will always be available. It’s how we humans grow and evolve spiritually into more conscious and self-aware beings.
When under a Jupiter transit, you may attempt to go ‘over the top’ expanding/exaggerating your life way beyond your financial or practical capacity at the time, taking on more than you can really handle. You can feel so optimistic you think you’re invincible. For example, you’ve always wanted to travel overseas – so you purchase a round-the-world ticket to do so, without being practical by first checking your finances, or working out how you will pay for it. Whoops! And then, a few weeks or months late, the practical reality of that purchase will hit you hard. This is Saturn’s territory. I’ll write about Saturn next week.
The parts of the body that loose interest in full functioning under the shadow beliefs of a Jupiter transit are the liver, hips, thighs and sciatic nerve. Tune into your body – how would you like to be trapped in the same mind-set for the whole of your life? The liver will become angry, and enlarge or become infected; the thighs will suffer from misuse, the hips may need replacing because of fear of moving forward in your life. Our body demonstrates the type of thoughts we have. Negative, fear-based thoughts create body problems. It’s wise to develop a metaphysical perspective to life especially during a Jupiter transit. Louise Hay’s book “You Can Heal Your Life” is an excellent book for developing a metaphysical perspective to life.
Jupiter is the planet that governs the sign of Sagittarius and the ninth house in the birth chart.
Four days ago, on 17th May, 2023, Jupiter moved into the sign of Taurus, where it will stay for approximately 12 months. The area of life (house) where you have Taurus in your birth chart is the area Jupiter will be highlighting during this time. Taurus is an earth sign. Venus, the planet of values, love and money, is the planet that governs Taurus. Hmm!
The following are a few possible life scenarios that come immediately to mind –
Expand the love essence in your hearts by spending precious quiet time in Nature, communing with and valuing her blessings and beauty. Decide to create your own garden and become self-sufficient, taking one step at a time to do so.
A new love may enter your life. Watch where the mind immediately goes! The love may be a pet animal!
Intend to expand your finances by taking one well-grounded step at a time to develop your natural gifts and talents.
Consciously work on expanding your levels of self-worth, self value, self-respect and self-love.
Believe there are endless possibilities and endless potentials.
Let force and control go and TRUST yourself and your own creative talents and resources. Enhance them so you can make good use of them.
Expand your spiritual values.
Reflect on how your values have changed during your life span and choose to consciously place a high value on your inner spiritual journey, the most beneficial journey that can ever be taken.
OR, on the dysfunctional side – when misusing Jupiter’s expansive energy: –
Expanding your waistline by stuffing yourself (over indulging) with too much food and wine.
Over -confidently purchasing many unnecessary things in the material world.
Focusing all your energy on the material world and totally ignoring the spiritual.
There may be deeply rooted issues connected to love or money that can arise to the surface of your consciousness during this time. Question self:
1) How can I create more abundance in my life?” Ask until you receive an answer from within yourself is what I would do.
Another answer to question 1. Studying and apply to your life a subject that helps you understand your intrinsic nature, your natural talents and potential. When this in known, consciously work to enhance them so you earn a good and regular income from your creative efforts.
2) “How can I advance my self-worth, self-value-self-belief?”
One answer to 2. By spending this entire year on consciously advancing your levels of self-worth, self-love and self-value. I’ve written heaps more about how to do this in Volume Two of my Astrology book: Your Recipe for Empowerment through Spiritual Astrology. It’s at the end of the Venus chapter. From memory, there are 20 steps you can take – or at least that I’ve written about.
It’s always a personal choice as to how we use our vital life-force energy. I recommend you use Jupiter’s energy wisely, with self-awareness, because it will be beneficial.
May you open your minds and hearts to receive and integrate these messages, and allow the love guiding them to fuel your daily life,
Blessings and Love,
Ashtara
