Jupiter’s Transit through Gemini
Currently, transiting Jupiter is retrograde, appearing to move backwards from our earthly perspective. Jupiter governs expansion, optimism, spiritual growth, religions, religious figures- and from my perspective over many years of experience – truth.
The above transmissions both refer to truth. Truth to be revealed. Truth of human evolution of consciousness. Truth that has been hidden for thousands of years.
This has been my search since I was a small child. My mother and her family were devout christians. My father, a truth seeker. The three seven-year old childhood memories that stand out in my mind connected to this theme are:
1) An avid reader, I attempted to read the Bible from front to back in search of truth. My father was amazed at my persistence.
2) Around a tree in our back garden I used to play at being a teacher – of the truth of Jesus’ teachings. I knew they were not found in a church – only in nature.
3) At school I questioned the ancient history teacher as to why her teaching only went back one thousand years. What about the many thousands of years before that? She couldn’t answer me. I dropped history as a subject.
My birth chart has Sagittarius on the Ascendant. Sagittarius is the sign ruled by planet Jupiter and my life has been one of constant expansion in search of truth. Age 24 ( second Jupiter cycle) I experienced a near-death through a botched tonsillectomy operation. I also experienced sexual assault by a minister of the Church. Huge expansion! Obviously a karmic theme! Why did I create these two hugely diverse experiences? The truth of my karma took some time to reveal. I forgave myself.
From those experiences, all religious aspirations flew out the door of my psyche. One very big door closed in my mind. It took a further two Jupiter cycles (24 years), to open a new door – the door of spirituality, and to learn to believe in myself and my internal spiritual guidance! And to know that I didn’t need an external religious authority figure to lead me to God. I was perfectly capable of experiencing this blissful and unifying connection of unity and Oneness myself.
‘Belief’ is a key word applicable to Jupiter in Gemini, especially self-belief. Within the world ‘belief’ is the word ‘lie”. We can easily lie to ourselves and become very good at it!
In esoteric astrology, Sagittarius -the opposite sign to Gemini – connects to planet Earth and to Nature, and to the breadth and width of Nature’s teaching. Nature doesn’t lie. Nature demonstrates truth for all to see.
Gemini connects to learning, knowledge, communication, movement and networking. Many people are learning huge life lessons through this current transit. They may not perceive them as such. Much spiritual growth is taking place, especially related to the evolution of the soul. Many benefits, the nature of Jupiter, will come from this learning and its physical application in our lives . Walking our truth has power. Knowledge has power. Power can be abused, or used wisely. It’s a personal choice. It may be a conscious or unconscious choice. It’s wise to make it a conscious one.
A strong ego likes to be heard (Gemini). Think of a fiery evangelist and you have one symbolic image of Jupiter in Gemini! Talks a lot – about religious or spiritual matters, believing he/she is right!.
Jupiter takes approximately 12 months to travel through one sign of the zodiac. It entered Gemini on 26th May this year, 2024. On 9th October it turned retrograde at 21 degrees Gemini. Anyone with planets or points in their birth charts in mutable signs ( Gemini/Virgo/Sagittarius/Pisces) will be influenced by this transit. You might like to check your birth charts to see if you are one. If so, you can use this transit to understand more about yourself. It’s wise to adopt a curious, and detached observer perspective to your life.
On 4th February 2025, Jupiter will turn direct at 11 degrees 16mins. Gemini.
Those who have birth chart placements in the mutable signs from 12 to 21 degrees will be re-activated by Jupiter during this Gemini cycle and those who have placements from 22 -29 degrees are still be be activated next year. On June 10th 2025 Jupiter moves into the sign of Cancer, not to return to Gemini for approximately 12 years.
We can make the most of this transit by choosing to learn as much as we can about our inner selves and the way our thoughts create our lives. We will grow in consciousness as a result. We can also attend courses and read books to purposefully expand our minds rather than read material that dulls the mind.
May you choose to seek the truthful guidance within that enables joy, gratitude and love to be realised and experienced.
