The Air Element
At the recent Aquarius New Moon were seven placements in air signs as Pluto, Mercury, Sun, Moon and asteroid goddess Pallas Athene in Aquarius; Sedna and Jupiter in Gemini. What does this mean? Again, I’ll share some of information from my Astrology work book, Your Recipe for Empowerment through Spiritual Astrology, Volume One.
Air represents our mental ability, thought processes and the ability to move our ideas through our mind, use logic, relate well with others and our ability to focus our minds. Air people need to gather information, explore intellectual ideas and share their concepts. Their attitudes are objective and curious. They are communicative and responsive.
Some key words relative to air people are: Busy, mentally active, interactive, informative, flexible, movement, logical, rational, communicative. (Can also use appropriate key words relative to the three air signs: Gemini, Libra and Aquarius.)
Air regulates the electrical system of our bodies and our breath. Air also governs the oxygenation process – the nervous and circulatory systems of the body. Air relates to the sense of touch and the organ is the skin.
Balanced air would manifest as someone well adjusted mentally, able to respond appropriately to new information and situations. If you are balanced air you will be calm and alert and have a fine aesthetic sense. You will be able to gather information and disseminate it effectively. You will be flexible in your thinking and be able to change old beliefs and thought patters readily. This mental flexibility will manifest as flexibility in your body.
I have found that the practice of yoga is a wonderful indicator of our level of flexibility. As we recognise and release disharmonious limiting thoughts, our body responds in like manner by releasing blockages to movement.
TOO MUCH AIR:
Should your mind be overstimulated with too much air you will be restless, agitated, unstable and experience difficulties sleeping – and of being alone. You will have difficulties interacting with others and not be relaxing to be around. You could have trouble with your hair, nails, bones, drying of the skin and arthritis. Treatment would be water and earth.
TOO LITTLE AIR:
You would be a slow thinker, disoriented, and probably have oily skin and hair. Treatment; accelerated learning programmes and fire activities. You will need lots of exercise to get energy moving in your mind and body.
I found when I was in this developmental phase I needed to discipline my mind to walk vigorously every day and, through this regular physical movement, bright ideas would enter my sluggish mind. The physical exercise was necessary to enable the flow of ideas.
May you open your minds and hearts to receive and integrate these messages, and allow the love guiding them to fuel your daily life,
Blessings and Love,
Ashtara
