Consciousness is not generated through an unconscious, robotic process. It is self-generated through intention, and the desire to change one’s life for the better. The process involves becoming conscious of, and correcting, debilitating psychology. The desire to do so usually arises when life becomes difficult. Eventually the realization occurs that ‘for things to change, first I must change’. The evolution of consciousness is not analogous to the growth, or aging, of the body. It comes through struggle and challenge.

The goal of self-realization is to become conscious of the soul because it is the medium through which spirit works.

When consciously operating as a soul powerful spiritual insights and instant broader perceptions occur regularly, as does instant manifestation of thoughts. When we understand that the most precious jewel of our existence resides as a flame of divine love burning in our heart, we choose to daily tend this flame. We do this through regular meditation, prayers of thanksgiving and also through sacred ritual or ceremony.

A brief definition of the three main levels of human consciousness follows, and is taken from Ashtara’s book The Magdalen Codes, Reclaiming Ancient Wisdom.

Subconscious: (Feminine) Contains priceless soul knowledge of all incarnations that can only be accessed through feelings, body sensations and heart intelligence. The process needed to access this realm requires self-awareness.

Conscious: (Masculine) is everyday consciousness. It’s the known and unknown intermingled. The personality is unaware of the soul’s knowledge and wisdom, gained from experiences over many lives. Duality abounds. Opportunities are given throughout life to access the soul’s hidden treasures of truth and they usually come through life’s many challenges. The challenges are connected to emotional upheaval. We have the opportunity to ‘wake up’ to truth when our mind is prodded by emotion. If the opportunities are taken to know self on a deeper level, the soul work for the incarnation begins. Life starts to be perceived from a higher perspective. Millions of people on our planet are now taking this path. The light of consciousness is spreading quickly.

Super or Christ Consciousness: The individual has full access to, and is determined to heal, old karma that includes soul wounds. Resolution of duality occurs when this inner process is complete. A self-aware, enlightened and love-filled individual, at-one with self and spiritual source, emerges from the ashes of the former personality. Jesus attained this state of being and said that whatever he did we could also do.

Ascension into Christ Consciousness can be attained by clearly defining and working through the problematic content of the subconscious. Dedication to working through past causes of current psychological issues is a step towards the development of super consciousness.

We can each assist our evolutionary process by committing to do the inner work necessary to transmute our shadow psychology into divine love and light. By so doing we accelerate the collective human evolutionary journey into higher consciousness. The light of higher consciousness is filled with divine love. The frequency wave of divine love is transforming our world, raising it towards the Supreme Creative Force.

Throughout the Magdalen Codes book, Ashtara shares personal stories that demonstrate her experiences of the three levels of consciousness. She also wrote about the evolution of human consciousness and the star systems that aid humanity’s developmental process. Within the stories, she introduces the reader to a wide range of history and myth. These experiences enabled the telling of her-story.
