Happy birthday to readers with Sun in Cancer: I hope it’s a great day/year for you.

Each one of us has all the signs of the zodiac in our personal energetic make-up.  However, the mix is different for everyone. The focus for this four-week moon cycle is on the Cancer/Capricorn polarity.

The Cancer crab likes to make sure her home is a safe, secure, supporting, nourishing and nurturing place to relax and enjoy her family whereas Capricorn, the mountain goat, is ambitious, wanting to achieve great heights.   Capricorn is good at business, organization and discipline.  However it may use its cold horns to wound others on the climb up the success mountain!   These signs are opposite each other in the zodiac and this means they act as opposing forces within each individual.  How to get the balance between home life and career? How to fulfill both needs so that balance is achieved?  Most of us struggle with this. 

We all have emotional needs (Cancer) and it pays to learn to identify them so we can give them to ourselves.  No one else can possibly know what these needs are because we are all so different.  One of the life lessons for Cancer is to learn to nurture, nourish and care for oneself equally as much as others and for Capricorn it is to learn to soften up, consider others equally to oneself and to give, ask for and receive support and nurturance from others.  Both signs can have major issues around the theme of responsibility.  Often those with this polarity strong in their energetic make-up can struggle with developing a sense of belonging.  Where do I belong?  With whom do I belong? To what career do I belong? To what country/home do I belong?

This Cancer home and family oriented New Moon conjuncts Vesta, (Hestia) Goddess of the Hearth and the flame of Spirit.   In ancient Priestess temple days this flame was not allowed to die out.  Why? Because it symbolized the flame that burns within every human heart that connects us to our soul home and unity with divinity!  Vesta and the sign of Cancer have much in common.  They both love honor and respect the home fire! 

This brightly burning home-fire energy package falls opposite powerful and transformative Pluto in Capricorn at the time of the New Moon.  Pluto is often referred to as Lord of the Underworld and it usually requires a trip into our personal underworld to experience the depths of our unique being. So what does it mean at this time? Power struggles can be experienced at home or in your professional life now that may be emotionally upsetting. This is because your changing inner dynamics will be challenging the status quo.   Choose to become aware and to take responsibility for your part in them. Authenticity in your inner and outer home space is necessary and even essential for this period to work well for you. Choose to be a caring, nurturing “boss of self”.

Those with strong Cancer in their psychological matrix will unconsciously want to cling to the past and the false security it offers.  However Pluto suggests this is no longer possible even if issues of survival appear to be prevalent. It’s best to honor Pluto and willingly let go of past baggage and beliefs that are well past their “use by” date!

Transformation, re-birth and regeneration are always needed to enable evolutionary soul growth but how can transformation occur without self-awareness?  We need to become conscious of what psychological package needs to transform!  Are you willing to commit to the attainment of conscious self-awareness so you can release past fears and limitations to embrace a regenerative new beginning?

The time is ripe for you to do this.  Transiting Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron, in easy aspect to the New Moon, offers unique opportunities to clear the veils from your mind, heal past separation wounds and move on to exciting humanitarian ideals and projects that are uplifting and emotionally fulfilling.  You can choose to create an amazing future for yourself, your family and the global family.
