NEW MOON AUGUST 20th - LEO 28 DEGREES - 8.02 AM

Continuing on from the recent Full Moon in Aquarius, this New Moon falls in the opposing sign of Leo.   Therefore the themes and issues highlighted at the Full Moon, if identified and acknowledged, now have the opportunity to release and heal.  This will enable you to consciously implement a new state of being should you choose to do so.  For your understanding I will review the key words of the two signs.

Leo:  a fire sign, meaning the fire of your internal spirit.  In the functional:  leader, star, creative, courage of the lion, fiery, loving, generous, warm, open, spontaneous, enjoys children and is child-like.   In the dysfunctional: childish, unconsciously seeks love, attention, approval and recognition. Proud, arrogant, superior, self-centred, self-aggrandizement, unloved and rejection,

Aquarius: an air sign, associated with your mind and mental capacity.    In the functional:  self-aware, conscious, observant, free, space, futuristic; inventive, innovative, reform; humanitarian, friends, groups and causes.  Dysfunctional:  scattered, ‘airhead’, disconnected from heart and body, separation, abandoned, rebellious.

Those readers who have planets or points in their birth chart around 27 degrees of Leo/Aquarius/Scorpio or Taurus (all fixed signs) will feel the affects of this New Moon more so than others.   The birth chart planets and points act like acupuncture points in the mind and body.  Negative mental and emotional energy stagnates and solidifies at these places when old psychological issues remain unconscious and unresolved. Throughout life, via the magnetic Law of Attraction, repeated similarly related dense psychological patterning gathers energetic mass that eventually develops into illness and disease.

However, at certain astrological times cosmic energy becomes available to gain awareness of these self-destructive issues and themes. Through the development of conscious self-awareness and then by taking positive affirming action, healing takes place.  The dense energy pattern shatters when the light of higher consciousness shines upon it.   Greater health and wellbeing is the result.   In other words psychological issues are highlighted at specific cosmic timing to enable evolutionary spiritual growth.  Before that growth occurs you will react like a programmed robot. Your lives are governed by cosmic timing!  Astrology is a great tool to help you gain multi-dimensional consciousness through self-awareness so you can chose to work with cosmic currents rather than against them.

So, with that preamble I’ll rock on to a delineation of the energy of this Leo New Moon.

A New Moon is a time to plant new seeds of conscious intent into the “soil” of your subconscious mind.  It would be wise to identify an issue or theme relating to the key words above and choose at this time to intentionally create a new beginning in your life based on it. The following is a simple example.   You might believe that you are unlovable (this is a theme that millions of people carry) because you are too fat/tall/thin/unattractive/have been abused/ are uneducated, have been rejected or whatever.  Not true! Erase! Erroneous belief!  Do you want to carry it into your future?  What you create in the present by your thoughts and emotions will become your future. 

You can consciously create an uplifting future by utilizing the cosmic currents of a New Moon to plant affirmative and positive seeds of new beginnings. Using the example above you can make a decision to do what you can to erase the unlovable erroneous belief.   This will take conscious effort.  First, formulate a very clear phrase/affirmation that resonates with your heart, mind and spirit and write it down.   This gets it out of your head and onto an objective piece of paper.   Then you can see it visually.  Does it still resonate? When your mind, heart-felt loving emotions and spirit are totally aligned and congruent with a specific, clearly defined intent it must eventuate.   When and how it does is God’s business, not yours! However, when an opportunity arises to further your intent, and it will, you need to be willing and determined to take the affirmative action required, no matter what the challenge.  The length of time between congruent intent and manifestation is determined by the affirmative constructive action you take.

In the functional expression the energy of Leo, which you all have in differing amounts in your energetic make-up, likes to play and have fun.  It enjoys life, is creative, generous and courageous and willingly shares love.  It thrives as a leader and shines on centre stage. However, in the dysfunctional, Leo can play the archetypal ‘Drama Queen’ even creating illness in order to receive approval and recognition.   This is usually an unconscious creation.   Leo energy can be very needy of loving attention. Those of you who play this game will need to develop self-love, self-approval and self-recognition and not expect/hope/wish that others will give it to you.   The more Leo unconsciously expects another to give approval and recognition the less it will receive.  The Law of Attraction ensues that like psychological games attracts like. One person will play the covert expression of an astrological polarity and the other, the overt expression, just so the game between the two players can be consciously identified and corrected.  The time this takes is determined by the consciousness of the two individuals involved.  It can take the whole of a life, many years or only a few months. It’s wise to become conscious.

Leo can play the arrogance and superiority game well!  e.g. “I am important and I expect my subjects to bow to me!” WOOPS!  A humility fall is coming!  The ‘Spoilt Child’ archetype is another game Leo plays very well.  Be mindful of these dense games, as they will not serve you. Instead of taking that route why not choose to utilize your love juices to express yourself in a dynamic, loving leadership or expressively creative role.  Choose to play the Game of Life with lightness of spirit and joy in your heart. 

You are all in a state of becoming.  Becoming what?  A star!  A star creates light from within itself.  It has no need of the light of the Sun.  Reflect on these words. 

In this New Moon chart there are three planets in Aquarius opposing the Sun and Moon in Leo.  What does this mean? This cosmic play can activate those with naturally strong Libra in their energetic make-up to become even more indecisive because an opposition tends to amplify this state of being. The three planets in Aquarius; Neptune, Chiron and Jupiter, offer opportunities to become the observer of your psychological ‘tug-of-war’ games. Through non-judgmental self-observation you will be able to clearly identify your psychological patterning.  From that perspective you can choose to change for the better. Your future will be enhanced by this choice. 

A cosmic play between Mars/Uranus and Mercury/Saturn will challenge you to get your natural, possibly denied, creative juices flowing again. Please do not deny the world your unique creative expression because of some ego based thoughts and feelings of littleness.   Whatever it is that interests, enthuses and excites you now can act as seeds for a completely new and exciting future direction.

Change is in the air.  So many of you are going through tremendous changes.  The greatest change that you can make is a positive change in your state of consciousness.   Be conscious of each new step you take and make sure it will enhance your future and not harm another. The planetary players provide cosmic currents to enable human evolution of consciousness.  You are the only one who can choose to play your Game of Life.  You are the only one who can choose what you think and do. What do you choose? Is it the Path of Joy and Light, or the Path of struggle and hardship?  Your seeds of choice will be anchored at this New Moon in Leo. It would be wise to consciously anchor creative, love-based seeds because they will become your future.

As a footnote:  Astrologically the planetary players have, for some time, been gearing humanity towards huge shifts in consciousness.  This is needed at this time in order for humanity collectively to decide the future of our planet and all living things upon her.  Many of you will have read about the Mayan calendar and how it depicts an ending on the December solstice 2012.  This aligns with astrology.  There are huge and awesome cosmic alignments taking place as many cosmic cycles return to their starting places.   A completely new beginning of human consciousness evolution is underway and will culminate in December 2012.  What is in the minds and hearts of the mass consciousness at that time will form our future.  The reason the Mayan day-keepers couldn’t continue their calendar was because they could not foretell what this would be. What they did foretell is “the return of the men of wisdom” to light the way.

The reason I write articles and books is to awaken you so you can consciously create a future for yourself, your children, their children and future generations that will be based on love, conscious co-creation, the light of higher consciousness and the desire to serve others less fortunate.  You do this by utilizing your natural creative gifts and talents to their greatest degree.  This is a true Leo/Aquarius theme.
