A New Moon is a time to plant symbolic seeds of positive and uplifting new beginnings. Be aware that it takes time for these seeds to develop strong widespread roots and sprout healthy shoots.   I recommend that, on the evening prior this empowering Scorpio New Moon, you choose to do a meditative sacred ceremony. You might light candles, place your favourite crystals around you or listen to beautiful soft music.  The idea is to purposefully create an atmosphere of harmony, peace and love.  Once this is created you can align a specific new intention for personal inner transformation with your will and commit to a new beginning in an area of your life that requires metamorphosis.

The first part of this process requires introspection and an examination of your deepest motives and desires.  Through penetrating objective and non-judgmental examination you can arrive at the truth hidden beneath unconscious desires and motivations.  By accepting and embracing your truth you will free your self from the chains of old childish psychological games. 

A new beginning often comes about through a deep desire to release old stagnant energy that no longer serves you.  You have had enough of that old game!  It has passed its “use by” date!  A new programme needs to be inserted in your mind so your brain can begin to integrate the new software. Be mindful of what you intend because, under this New Moon, it is likely to manifest powerfully and in ways you least expect. 

When you conclude your heartfelt sacred ceremony let go of all emotional and mental attachments as to how your new positive beginning will manifest.  This is none of your business.  Your business is to let go of control and allow the Higher Will of God/Great Spirit to do its work on your behalf.  When you receive subtle higher guidance in the form of new ideas, visual images, verbal messages or internal urges to act in a certain uplifting way, even though it may seem strange or scary, trust your guidance and follow the prompts.  

Some of the themes that could arise during this Moon phase are related to the key words of the two opposing signs.  These are itemised below. The energies of the two signs work together as two sides of the one coin.  Sometimes the themes and issues of one side is prominent and sometimes the other.  It’s wise to choose to create balance between the two. 

Taurus:  An earth sign meaning all that is grounded, earthed, practical and material.  Earth signs rule our physical body and material world.  Key words: Themes:  values/ talents/resources and the ability to create substance, self-sufficiency and abundance from your natural resources and talents.  Functional: abundance, substance, self-sufficiency, self-worth, sensual, beauty of nature, determined, wealth, money, quality, secure financially, respects body and its senses. Dysfunctional: stubborn, resistant to change, insecure financially, greedy, lazy, rut bound, mean, fixed, indulgent, slothful, possessive, attached to comfort zone.

Taurus rules the throat chakra and thyroid.   Any health problems in this area are based on the unwillingness to speak from the heart the truth of deep-seated feelings and emotions.  Taurus is also related to sound and the quality of sound we speak.  You can ask yourself the question “Do I speak with resonant sound waves that originate from my heart or do I speak with dissonance by being out of touch with my heart felt truth?” Your truthful answer and the appropriate positive action taken as a result will enhance your life.

Scorpio:  a deep and powerful water sign. The water element rules our emotional body. Key words: Themes:  death/rebirth/ sex/money/shared resources.   Functional: self-empowerment, psychology, detective, research, deep, penetrating, focused, passion, able to manage well shared resources and release old habits, fulfilling sacred sex; Dysfunctional: powerless, abuse of power, secretive, manipulative, revenge, resentment, jealousy, envy, hatred; dangerous, forceful, obsessive, interfering in other people’s business, poisonous, prostitution, underhand, toxic sex.

 The parts of the body affected by the Scorpio dense and poisonous emotional energy are the eliminatory and sexual organs. The pathway to self-healing is to become acutely aware of the psychological programme you were running at the time of the conception of the disease/health issue that activated the manifestation of the problem. Once the light of conscious self-awareness integrates and you fully grasp the role you played you can then take responsibility for your creation, I find it aids self-understanding to bear in mind that we are spiritual beings, a package of diverse energies all vibrating at different frequencies, having a physical experience.   When our vibratory energies are discordant and out of integrity ethics and truth with our pure love nature, “wake-up” calls occur. Ill health is one such “wake-up” call.     

 There are three pictograph symbols for Scorpio as:  The scorpion that self-destructs by stinging it’s own tail and dies; the eagle who is able to fly above the density of their self-created physical world to see an objective bigger picture, and the phoenix, the mythical bird who has the ability to rise from the ashes of the former self.  These three states of being symbolically relate to the spiritual evolutionary process of the Scorpio energy.

Some people may become fearful, or feel powerless at this New Moon.  This is because Saturn, now in Libra, is challenging Pluto in Capricorn in the starry skies.   These two cosmic players have begun a year- long cosmic drama.  This powerful drama will play out in the heavens, and in the deepest depths of the psyche of those people who have planets or points in their birth charts around 1degree.

I always bear in mind the Hermetic axiom that, paraphrased briefly states:  “As Above – So Below” In other words what happens in the cosmos is also happening in the deepest depths of the human psyche. The planetary players act as archetypal energies and stimulate our subconscious inner urges. Saturn, as the Lord of Time and Karma, will challenge your habitual fear based control patterns.   He requires you take responsibility for your life creations, on all levels of your being –emotional, mental, spiritual and physical.

Pluto, as Lord of the Underworld, will hold on like grim death to old stagnant dense energy through fear of the light of higher consciousness.  Who will win this current cosmic battle?    Saturn is very patient!  He will wait until Pluto is ready to alchemise old psychological density.   Symbolically the Pluto aspect within you needs to shed your serpent like skin so you can get on with the job of being as powerful as you are destined to be.

Should you choose not to transform density and continue to hold on to old negativity Saturn’s patience will run thin!    He has other business to attend to and cannot hang around forever!  He will precipitate the transformation in ways you cannot control!   Best to begin the process of metamorphoses into alchemy consciously by joining forces with this cosmic duo.
