NEW MOON SOLAR ECLIPSE 4th JANUARY 2011 7.02 PM AEST
- 14 DEGREES CAPRICORN
At the 2010 June solstice (in the sign of Cancer) you are likely to have birthed new creations. The period following the Capricorn December solstice is the perfect seasonal timing for reflection upon whether they are working well in your life or not. (Capricorn is the opposing sign to Cancer). It’s a good time to be brutally honest and evaluate whether your creations enhance or are detrimental to others. It would be wise to prioritise the most important ingredients – the uplifting feelings that arise from the joyful path of the heart. Based upon your findings you can then take the steps to restructure and re-organize your life and so move into 2011 with greater clarity and commitment, based on a solid foundation of love.
It’s also a good time to commit to building a solid foundation of emotional, mental and physical mastery so enabling greater wellbeing and health. This will ensure the success of your goals.
At the Aries Equinox in March 2011, the completion time of the yearly seasonal cycle, the new direction can be re-evaluated. The ancients worked with the seasonal timing and mastered it. Many indigenous people still work this way. So too can we learn how to live our lives naturally according to the seasonal cycles.
This solar eclipse and New Moon falls on the Cancer/Capricorn axis. The themes of an eclipse series can last for some months so be aware of where and how you are directing your energy. According to astrologer Bernadette Brady I her book The Eagle and the Lark the astrological theme of this eclipse series relates to groups and associations. Therefore it’s quite possible some of you may become involved in a large and ambitious group project and, if so, there may be a need to separate from existing ties or commitments. An eclipse theme can last for at least six months.
At this Eclipse/New Moon period Mars, Sun, Moon, goddess Pallas Athene, Pluto and North Node are all moving through the sign of Capricorn. It’s definitely the cosmic timing to restructure your life and to build a much stronger foundation than previously. For those who are ambitious and dedicated to climbing the physical and/or spiritual mountain to success then action oriented Mars and warrior woman Pallas Athene provides the drive. The Sun will light your way, shining on your practical and committed creations for good, the Moon will enable serious reflection of the past and Pluto enables the letting go of all that is no longer needed for your next evolutionary step forward.
With Pluto in Capricorn for many years to come there will be much more destruction of old outdated governmental and societal structures, especially financial ones. Mercury is now direct in Sagittarius so your thoughts are likely to be on expansion and growth. Jupiter and Uranus are exactly conjunct, at 27 degrees Pisces, for the final time in their cosmic dance. They are doing their best to awaken and advance the consciousness of humanity. New innovative thoughts, technologies and unexpected opportunities arise under their influence as does reform and revolution. Wikileaks is an example of their energy in Pisces. Many veils are being lifted in our minds as we see clearly the truth of devious actions from those of authority and status.
To aid your understanding of the themes and issues that may arise during this New Moon/Eclipse period I’ll list some key words associated with Cancer and Capricorn. We all have these zodiacal energies in our psychological matrix, to differing degrees. Those readers who have planets or points in their birth chart around 14 degrees Cancer/Capricorn/ Aries and Libra, all cardinal signs, will experience the effects of this solar eclipse and New Moon more so than others. Cardinal means the ability to initiate new action confidently and drive a creation or project forward.
Cancer: The Crab. Functional: Home and family lover, supportive, caring, nurturing, ‘mother’ archetype, sensitive, psychic, memories, emotional mastery. Dysfunctional: insecure, clingy, needy, moody and emotionally immature. The Young Living therapeutic essential oils I recommend to help promote emotional balance and wellbeing are Joy and Valor.
Capricorn: The Mountain Goat. Functional: ambitious; success, achievement and results oriented; authority, executive, business, organization, time, corporations, status, reputation, rewards, awards, responsible and mature. Dysfunctional: cold, hard, non-caring, non- supportive, fearful, anxious, limited, authoritarian, controlling, dictatorial, and irresponsible. The Young Living pure essential oils I recommend to help promote achievement are Highest Potential and Magnify your Purpose.
Opposites attract in order to learn from each other. During this Moon cycle you may experience tests and challenges to overcome old debilitating fears. It would be wise to choose to pass the tests so you can experience the rewards of having done so.
As an example: a) A family member may challenge you to take on extra responsibility or b) you may be tested to assertively express your truth to a perceived family authority or c) you may feel attached to your home and family yet feel a pull to move forward in your career life. It is important to let go of past unhappy memories, and your comfort zone, and move on. Be aware of any guilt you carry and choose not to allow it to hold you in chains Atone where necessary and move on.
Enjoy your holiday period, recharge and take the steps necessary to create a wonderful 2011. Allow love and the light of higher consciousness to be your guides.
Much love and many blessings,
Ashtara
