Each month the New and Full Moons fall in opposing astrological signs. These signs rule our qualities, characteristics and sub-conscious motivations of which we are mostly unaware. When we connect to the monthly rhythms of our internal biological, emotional and intuitive codes we greatly increase our ability to fulfil our spiritual potential. The New Moon is a time when new ideas or concepts are likely to enter the mind that can lead to new intentions. During the following fourteen-days the newly planted ‘seed’ of intent throws up related psychological issues and themes. Emotions can build in these two weeks and, if suppressed, create bags of swelling fluid in the body. At the Full Moon illumination of the psychological themes experienced can occur. The following fourteen days provide the opportunity to become conscious of suppressed or repressed emotions and the situations that triggered them. Once identified, acknowledged and accepted the emotional charges associated with the issues can be released. The body then responds in kind and a greater lightness of being is experienced. The fluid levels also settle down. And then the cycle begins anew. This takes place whether aware of it or not. Astrology is a wonderful tool to enable self-awareness and higher consciousness and provides the opportunity to consciously work with the cosmic energies for the greater good. It is wise to meditate at the times of the New and Full Moon, as a window of cosmic energy is available for inner spiritual guidance. At the New Moon you can create a ritual of commitment whereby you symbolically plant the healthy seed of your new goal or aspiration into the subconscious fertile ‘soil’ of your mind. You can do this via meditation, physically or a combination of the two. It is the congruent intent behind the action that has the greatest power. At the Full Moon you can tune in and meditate to assess how well your newly planted seed is growing and whether it needs fertilizing or watering. In most ancient cultures people lived their life according to the Moon cycles. In many indigenous cultures the intuitive insights received by menstruating women at the full moon were highly regarded and utilized for tribal life. Our western world has disregarded this right brain feminine ability in favour of the left-brain conditioned rational mind. However, this is changing as more men are becoming sensitive, insightful and intuitive. The tides are turning as the spiritual evolution of humanity accelerates. |

FULL MOON 19 DEGREES LEO FEBRUARY 8th 2012 - 7.54AM (AEST)Fun, creativity and leadership are the Leo characteristics highlighted at this time. Why not give yourself permission to enjoy life and play? Play means different things to different people. So, whatever makes your heart sing, now’s the time to do more of it. Parties are also favourite fun times for Leo and you might be invited to an Aquarian zany type party. I have been. It’s my oldest granddaughter’s 21st birthday and she’s having a pyjama party. Love it! One of the down sides to Leo is the ‘Drama Queen’ archetype. If unconscious of this part it could take over centre stage in your psyche and create havoc. It’s likely to backfire so it’s best to become aware of, and not encourage, this childish expression. Mercury dances very close to the Sun during this Full Moon indicating that bright creative ideas are likely to enter a clear and receptive mind so have your note pad ready. Neptune enters Pisces on 3rd February and will be moving through this section of the zodiac until 2026. When slow moving planets, such as Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, enter a new sign the collective is always affected. For example I’ll not forget the day Pluto entered Capricorn. That’s when the financial world began its global collapse. I’ll be watching the news for tell tale signs of Neptune’s entry into Pisces to gauge what we can anticipate during the next fourteen years. A few people have asked me to write my ‘take’ on this passage so I am. I’ll share the article next time I write. Neptune and Chiron, now both in the same sign of Pisces, are still waltzing together closely. Goddess Vesta (archetypal goddess of the hearth flame) and Venus, goddess of love and beauty, are also moving through Pisces. The morning Venus entered Pisces I knew a planet must have entered that sign because I woke up wanting to listen to beautiful music and burn incense. It’s probably been a year since I’ve done this. (Music and incense are themes relating to Pisces). Many people don’t realize how we live our lives according to the cosmic influences. However, being very curious, I like to know and record. During the Full Moon phase Neptune and Chiron are still dancing in harmonious relationship. Saturn connects to them providing the necessary grounding energy to concretize our dreams and aspirations. With grounded, practical action we can now begin the manifestation process. Pluto in Capricorn is now in easy relationship to Jupiter in Taurus (both earth signs) enabling those powerful ‘big picture’ plans to flow well. Those readers with planets or points in their birth chart around 19 degrees of Leo/Aquarius/Scorpio or Taurus (all fixed signs) are likely to be activated by this Full Moon more so than others. Why not check your birth chart to see the area of life (house) in which this Full Moon falls? Below are some of the themes and issues that could arise. Leo: the Lion: a fire sign, meaning the fire of our internal spirit. In the functional: leader, creative, courage of the lion, fiery, loving, generous, warm, open, spontaneous, enjoys children and is child-like in expression. In the dysfunctional: childish, “Drama Queen” archetype, unconsciously seeks love, attention, approval and recognition. Proud, arrogant, superior, self-centred, into self-aggrandizement, throws childish temper tantrums, feels unloved and experiences rejection and separation when doesn’t get own way and/or when rejecting personal authentic creative heart-felt expression. Aquarius: The Consciousness Bearer: an air sign, associated with the mind and mental capacity. In the functional: self-aware, conscious, observant, free, futuristic; inventive, innovative, reform; science, humanitarian, likes involvement with friends, groups and causes. Must have the freedom and space in which to create innovatively. Dysfunctional: scattered, ‘airhead’, disconnected from heart, feelings and body; issues with rejection, separation and abandonment that lead to rebellious, erratic and chaotic behaviour. Feels alienated from friends and associates and is unable to envision a fulfilling future. May you choose to live life consciously embraced by the Forces of Love and Light Love and blessings, |
