Indigenous people of ancient times created their calendars based on the cycles and phases of the Moon. Some of these calendars are still in use today. There are thirteen Moon cycles in our Gregorian solar calendar, which started at Zero Point and was created by Pope Gregory. Attuning to the thirteen Moons each year greatly enhances our feminine, intuitive and feeling nature. The Moon pulls the tides of our oceans daily and it also influences our inner emotional tides. Our bodies are comprised of 75% fluid/water. Our blood contains water.
In astrology the Moon rules our emotions and subconscious memories from the past. It also rules the menstrual cycles of women. Women suffering pain during their menstrual cycle do so as a result of unconsciously harbouring dense and heavy emotionality stored in their cells. Geneticists have now proven that we carry in our genes many ancestral memories that influence our behaviour and our health.
Our current solar calendar was created as part of the restructuring programme initiated by the Church of Rome as a control mechanism. Rome ruled the known world at that time and its influence now is equally strong but more clandestine. There are many secrets stored in the Vatican. The Gregorian/Church of Rome system denigrates the feminine. It installed supremacy of the masculine even though priestly males are prohibited from using their phallus for natural sexual activities.
And so a gradual change of belief was successfully implemented into the minds of the western world. There was great resistance at first. Under the direction of the authorities of the church millions of women were burned at the stake or slaughtered because they were known to be wise and intuitive. Many people today carry these dark experiences in their subconscious memory banks along with the associated fear of speaking and living their truth. Some of you reading these words will feel this truth stirring in your bodies.
As we approach the Age of Aquarius, which is the Age of Light, information, individuality, technology and higher consciousness, the ancient indigenous beliefs and understanding of cosmic forces are emerging from our cellular memory. Ancient cultures honoured and respected women, especially those bleeding, for their qualities of intuition, insight, feeling and oracular abilities. No important decision would be made without consulting the wise women of the tribe or community. The women stored within the depths of their cellular memory the ancient secrets from time immemorial. They knew that at specific times during the phases of the Moon these memories could rise to the surface of consciousness to be understood, processed and valued.
Memories of soul experiences can be activated by various means. Sometimes this is through a scent, a familiar sight, a voice or a special place. The Moon rules our soul memories. In our lifetimes on Earth we have the opportunity to consciously work with our lunar subconscious memory banks. These memories are often based on belief systems that repeat: “I can’t do this. I’m not good enough”. etc. All our past negative conclusions and decisions are stored in our memory banks. Positive decisions, conclusions, special gifts and talents also reside in our cellular memory and these also are available to us.
Many people are now unconsciously remembering the ancient times and feel an urge to reflect, go within, pray, meditate and do ceremony at the times of the New and Full Moons. When we consciously choose to work with the Moon energies we can create a life of mindfulness and higher consciousness. The Moon reflects our emotions. Mastery of self is based on whether we deal with our emotions effectively.
At a New Moon, when the sky is completely black, it is time to sow the seeds of a new idea. It is wise to be open and receptive to new ideas that enter your consciousness at this time. Feel into them and allow your body to be your guide as to whether you implement them or not. A seed needs time to gestate and be nurtured within the depths of moist, warm soil. This is the process that occurs with the seeds of ideas sown at the time of a New Moon.
New goals can be set at this time. It is wise to be very careful as to the setting of these goals to make sure they are really what you want. During the following fourteen-day phase, between the New and Full Moons, the newly planted seed throws up psychological issues and themes to be dealt with. Emotions can build up in those two weeks and, if suppressed, create bags of swelling fluid in the body. These emotions will relate to the initiatory theme. Women can feel their body change form as the emotional pressure builds up before the Full Moon. Their breasts can feel fuller and their tummies extended. Then, at the Full Moon phase illumination can be intuited as to the psychological themes and issues experienced on the journey of the previous two weeks. Once illuminated the issues associated with the theme can be consciously released. The body then responds in kind. The fluid levels settle down. That flat tummy comes back again!
The following fourteen days provide the opportunity to release the built up emotions through self-understanding and illumination. Any information and knowledge gained can be circulated and shared. And then the process begins again.
It is wise to become an empty vessel before a forthcoming New Moon. You can wash away your ego patterns every month from the Full Moon to New Moon. If you do this you will feel less influenced by other planetary forces.
It is by sensitively tuning in to these Moon phases that we can develop greater self-awareness. The planets are there for our evolutionary growth. We can ignore their influences and continually react to their energies or we can choose to become conscious of them and utilize them wisely and well. The Moon assists our evolutionary process greatly.
