 A simple visit from a girlfriend can have extraordinary results. My crazy friend Berislava, a well-known artist of international renown, arrived at my front door armed with dance music, easels, paints and canvas. She was preparing to leave Australia to live elsewhere and wanted to repay me for my support and astrological guidance I had given her. She was going to paint a special picture for me.
Following a spiritual astrology guidance session she put on her dance music and we both entered into a new game. She had already erected her easel on my dining room table with palette beside it, ready for action. We danced, and danced, laughed and played, allowing ourselves to flow with the passionate and vibrant dance rhythm. Then she asked ME to paint!!! She had decided it was time I learned to experience the delights and joy of creating a ‘masterpiece’ of art and it that it was now time to begin this creation.
Following the initial shock of being put on the spot I went over to the easel and, with the spatula provided, slapped on oil paints with gay abandon. I felt so free and creatively expressive. When I felt I had finished slapping on the colours that felt right to me, I danced some more. Together we danced to a new tune. Then the same thing happened again. Laughingly I applied more paint, allowing my feelings to guide me. I didn’t think about what I was doing. However, I could see something emerging from my very ‘professional’ artistry and allowed these shapes to form. A large white central lotus revealed itself along with a bird returning to its nest.
Then we sang and danced some more. We had such fun, doubling over with laughter, gyrating all parts of our bodies with feelings of freedom and liberation. I found myself singing high notes that I had never reached before. This was remarkable. Feeling more adventurous I applied more paint to the canvas. The vibrancy of my energy was transferred to the canvas and more shapes appeared.
Then I asked Berislava to add her expertise to my artistry to complete the painting. Within a few short minutes magic happened. The large lotus flower developed as the main focus of the painting with the bird diving straight into its centre, about to experience the pollen and nectar of its beauty. Underneath the lotus flower a group of dolphins emerged, playing happily in the purple sea. Light bubbles from them connected to the lotus, symbolically joining the dolphin world to the physical world. Two streams of parallel lights rose above and from the lotus flower, indicating a celebration, each stream finding it’s own way, yet anchored to the beauty of Earth.
Many other images appeared in the painting depending on the perspective of viewing. The painting seems to vibrate with aliveness and to palpate power.
It was a totally fun-filled, enjoyable, energizing and amazing experience. I have an outstanding, unique original painting to grace my wall, one I feel exceedingly proud to own. My friend left me with an easel, canvas and knife to encourage me to paint some more. The entire afternoon experience took three hours. |
