A Guide to Spiritual Astrology

I’d like you to imagine yourself as a newly born baby.  You are lying on your back in your cot in the centre of a room and have a 360 degree unimpeded view of the sky.  Imagine it is at night.  You perceive the sky from your personal perspective at the place, date and time you were born.

Now look at your birth chart. This is a model of that astrological sky.  You will notice the symbols of the zodiacal signs are placed on the outer rim of it. Now bring your attention in to the divided sectors of your birth chart.  The symbols you now see depict the position of the planets moving through the twelve different zodiacal signs at the very moment you first drew breath.  The planets in their various zodiacal signs are placed within twelve different sectors, referred to as ‘houses’, of the chart. These sectors represent different areas of life experience.  

The planets are living organisms and, as such, are storehouses of energy.  They can be likened to power stations, receiving and transmitting cosmic energy to all living things within their field of influence.   Each planetary storehouse has a mix of different ingredients depending on its energetic components.  We humans are storehouses of specific energetic currents because we also receive and transmit energy.   We do this via our thoughts, feelings, emotions and actions. Mostly we are unconscious of how and why we do this.  What are our personal specific components and how can we become conscious of them?

Your birth chart is your guide to developing this understanding. At the time you took your first breath of life you breathed in the energy of the astrological system as it was at that time from your perspective. This energy impinged upon your cellular matrix forming your energetic ‘wiring system’. Your birth chart is a model of this system. You could refer to it as your spiritual DNA.  This energetic blue print contains the specific components needed to accelerate your soul growth during this lifetime.

Prior to conception our soul chooses the time, place and date of birth, and the family into which we incarnate, in order to learn spiritual evolutionary lessons. Earth can be thought of as our soul’s school for evolutionary spiritual growth.

When we are young we attend kindergarten, pre-school, primary school and high school.  As we advance in our learning we then tackle the next level of our education.  It is the same system for soul growth. 

Many people do not leave the kindergarten phase of conscious soul development.  They still re-act to emotionally charged situations through childish behaviour.  They view and experience their life through the lens of a young child. Yet soul growth is paramount and is the purpose of incarnation.   So how do people learn to grow and evolve spiritually?

The universal Law of Attraction is always at work.  It is through this Law that events and circumstances arise in an individual’s life. The transiting (travelling) planets determine the timing of these events. The way we experience and manage these situations is the perfect out-picturing of our state of consciousness at that time.  Therefore, if life is not going well for you and if illness, separation, hardship, difficulties, poverty or lack of love is experienced then it is a ‘wake-up’ call to look within and learn the lesson of soul growth.

The Law of Attraction works through subconscious motivations as well as conscious ones. Thoughts, emotions and feelings are psychological energy in motion. We are a living, breathing electro-magnetic bundle of energy and, as such, attract energetic inflow. If we think abundance yet feel poor we will attract poverty.  When our thoughts and emotions are consciously aligned and in harmony we attract accordingly.

In order for you to create a life of your dreams it is important to identify, accept, understand and come to love and appreciate your subconscious motivations through which you have unconsciously created your life thus far. As a result of this conscious self-awareness you have a choice.  You can choose to change your self-sabotaging patterning or you can continue to create more hardship and lack.
