ASHTARA'S TRIBUTE TO SATHYA SAI BABA

When I heard of the passing of this holy man from India memories of our times together wafted into my mind.  I was sad to hear of his passing but also glad his suffering had ended.

I first encountered his presence during a deep devotional meditation in the early 1990’s.  He had a strange appearance, very frizzy black hair, small in stature and a unique face that appeared to belong to no other tribe on earth. He was happy, oozed with love and jokes.  He began teaching me via uplifting, inspirational and heart-opening transmissions.  I recorded them all. Many of them form part of my book A Crack in the Cosmic Window.  I’ve chosen one of these at random to share with you.

As has been the case with all my spiritual guides I knew nothing about him before he came to me.  Following his visitation I began to research his life.   Books about him appeared to fall from shelves in bookstores and I met many people who had been to visit him in India.  I attended some of the local Sai Baba gatherings.

After a period of regular telepathic communication he invited me to his home in Puttaparthi, Southern India requesting I bring a copy of each of my first five books.  He suggested the most appropriate time to visit when there wouldn’t be many people attending his ashram.  Never having been to India before, nor to an ashram, I was very curious so accepted his invitation

Sai Baba assured me the way would be clear and I would have no problems.   On the day and time of arrival into Bangalore the then Prime Minister of England, Tony Blair, was also expected.  The red carpet was there!  My girl friend Joan and I were welcomed at the airport, through the clean tree lined streets of Bangalore and to our hotel as if associated with the ministerial party.  Rather a grand welcome! I enjoyed this cosmic joke!

The two and half- hour drive to the village of Puttaparthi the next day was easy and the scenery reminiscent of my many happy years spent living in Fiji.  I felt at home here.

During our visit there were only twenty five thousand people rather than the normal fifty plus thousand people attending his temple home and daily devotional sessions!  We were able to spend time close to Sai Baba and I received more directives. At some time during my many years of journeying with him he asked me to conduct regular full Moon group meditations with the specific purpose of cleansing the planet from psychic debris. We did this spiritual work for many years and it was such a privilege to be of global service.

It is my experience Sathya Sai Baba is highly regarded as part of the spiritual hierarchy and, when derisive complaints were made about him I chose not to allow them influence my incredibly life-enhancing experiences with him.

His extraordinary and far reaching earthly accomplishments speak highly of his work and I speak highly of his love, enlightened teaching and appreciation of the great cosmic joke of life.  He taught me well and he will always have a special place in my heart. He offered me many, many blessings along with much love, support, respect, consideration, protection and light. I offer him the same in his continuing evolutionary journey of loving spiritual service.  I know we will meet, and share many jokes, again.

Rest in peace beloved Sai Baba,
